1) EXPLORE

You may be a new coach that has some prior knowledge of Beachbody programs/products or you may be a coach that is very new to all that Beachbody has to offer. The first thing I would suggest doing is logging into your coach online office {www.beachbodycoach.com/yourusername} clicking that SHOP tab and scrolling through what Beachbody has to offer. Need help navigating the back office? There's a whole section on this in the training. 

 

2) ANNOUNCE

For all new coaches a “new coach announcement” is made. We, as your sponsoring coach, will post that on our personal fitness page, TeamVIP page, and BeatNIK Dynasty page. This is to get you announced to the Beachbody world. HOWEVER, you’ll want to create your OWN announcement to your network. This kind of announcement should be something genuine and direct from the heart. I would recommend posting some sort of “before” type picture along with the announcement post. You’ll want to share with your friends list/network WHY you have decided to make this leap of faith and start this journey. You’ll want to EXPLAIN to them what exactly YOU’LL be doing (example: T25 and Shakeology) WHY you’re excited about it and ASKING THEM for support and motivation to keep YOU on track. Involving your network IN YOUR JOURNEY is the first step in getting them interested. MOST people don’t want to just buy PRODUCTS, they want to buy an IDEA. YOU need to become the idea. You need to sell YOURSELF to these people, show them WHY they SHOULD BUY what we’re selling. Your announcement of why you’ve become a Beachbody coach and what you’re plan is, is the first step in getting them involved, invested and interested in YOU which will then equate to sales. Remember, we do NOT want to be perceived as “creepy/annoying” salespeople. We are FITNESS COACHES that have the luck of selling rad products from Beachbody.

 

3) MAKE LISTS

This next one may be a little tedious but it’s VERY, VERY EFFECTIVE. Make a list of your family members: husband, mom, dad brother, sister, cousins, aunts, uncles – anyone you think MAY be interested in either trying the products or hopping on as a coach. Write their name down under the heading of FAMILY. Then, create another heading FRIENDS. Go through your Facebook friend list and and write down the names of friends that you think would be a good coach/customer. Give them an * next to their name if you think they would be a good fit for both. This process may take you awhile, not something you can do in one sitting, but maybe try to add 10 people a day to your list and send those people a message. I’ll write up a little sample message below, but please make sure you are making this own. People can tell if you’re sending them a script and/or just copy and pasting something someone else wrote. You want to make it more like a personal note to someone.

“Hey Jane! Not sure if you know this or not but I recently joined Beachbody as a health & fitness coach and when thinking about who I just have to have on my team – your name almost immediately came to mind. Let me know if you’re interested to chat about itand I would love to give you some more information on what it’s all about! If you’re not interested, I totally understand but I just had to ask! Let me know!”

As time goes on you’ll always be building your lists as new people come into your life and you continue to grow your network so it’s important as a new coach to go through your existing network of people and get their names down right away!

 

4.) SOCIAL NETWORKING

Social Networking is crucial to this business! Every coach runs things differently, but I can only share with you what I personally do. I consider myself a “brand” and that brand is NOT just fitness, it’s everything about ME. So when posting throughout the day, I post about more than just my workouts – I post about my kids, where I go, what I do, what I buy, what I eat AND my fitness related posts. This gives people the opportunity to connect with me, to relate to me, to “get to know me”. People will be more likely to buy from you if they feel like they can relate/connect/KNOW you as a person. So, it’s important to be an active social networking but to post about a variety of things. If you don’t have Facebook, Instagram and/or Pinterest – make one! You are opening yourself up to so many more followers that way. Make sure you are watermarking anything you post also, putting a little @yourusername or facebook.com/yourname text on the picture posts. That way once your photo goes out into the interwebz it can be linked back to you (and also, so people can’t easily steal your pictures/posts!)

A lot of people ask me if they need to create a business/fitness Facebook page right away after becoming a coach. That is a personal choice. Facebook has been making things very difficult lately for posts on your business page to be seen without paying to promote {which I do not do}. By posting on your personal page, you have a better chance of your posts to be viewed by people and you’ll get a better response. HOWEVER, having that fitness page gives your “business” a more legitimate feel to it. You look more professional, more established. If you do create your business page I would recommend tagging yourself in your posts you make so that the post will also pop up on your timeline and therefore getting more viewings of it. SO again, it’s a personal choice. I waited a couple of months before creating one but it’s also totally OK if you want to create one right away!

 

5.) NICHE MARKET

Start brainstorming about what your niche market is. Again, this is very important because it will help you to identify who your main customer base is. For me, my niche market is mostly moms who have babies/young children. I do my best to appeal to them in the way that I’m also a mom with 2 small babies and I find the team to exercise and eat healthy despite that. I try to show them that they cannot just live a healthy lifestyle but they can also make a business out of it. You don’t want to only live inside of that niche market, but it’s a GREAT place to start.

A great niche market to fall into is MILITARY! It’s FREE for military coaches to sign-up with Beachbody, which is a major incentive! You can focus on the “there is absolutely no risk here!”

Another example are people into different aspects of fitness, something you’re into that is outside of Beachbody. For example, Running, Yoga, Pilates, Crossfit… You may exclude these people because they may not be interested in a BB program – but don’t! Shakeology is such an important part of our business and you can easily run a business off of recruiting people as distributors of Shakeo and/or having a multitude of Shakeo customers. If it ever came down to trying to sell Shakeo or a program, go for Shakeo! Getting them on HD means re-occuring monthly commission for you!

 

6.) TEAMS

The team thing can be a little confusing as there are MANY teams and MANY Facebook groups. In the attempt to keep it simple, this is how I’ve done my best to structure it. You are all members of TeamVIP, that is the team I created when I achieved Diamond rank and decided to branch off from my coach’s team (Niki Whiting) which is Team BeatNIK Dynasty. I continue to add my new coaches into BeatNIK because there are a lot more people to network with and I think that’s important for you to be surrounded by that. We are also a part of Team FITspiration, Team TKO, and Team Go Getters which are all founded by current top 50 to top 20 coaches. SO COOL to have access to such incredible resources! We jump onto the big team calls each week and whatever resources they share, I share in VIP as well.

I encourage you to create your own branding, come up with a name for your business. However, I also encourage you not to branch out until reaching Diamond rank at the earliest, and this is why. There is a lot to know as a new coach, which means there is a lot to teach new coaches. Until you feel you’ve got a strong grasp on the business, it’s best to stay within your upline coaches team so that they can assist you AND in assisting your new coaches about the business.

The branding aspect of the team is another question I get a lot. When announcing new coaches it’s a great idea to include the team(s) you belong to. You’ll notice when I post a new coach announcement I include our team name...some coaches include their upline's teams as well. When these new coach announcements go out into the interwebz it’s good publicity for our teams to have our branding. Make sense? Feel free to include your own branding, team name, facebook URL, IG handle, etc. But it is a good rule of thumb to include the upline teams you belong to.

 

7.) MAKING MONEY

One of the first big questions you might have is HOW DO I MAKE MONEY. There is an entire section on this that you'll find as you go through the training, but to sum it up…

We make 25% commission off ANY sales we personally make, which is AWESOME. And a lot of money can be made just from direct commission!

HOWEVER. We do NOT make commission of our coaches’ sales… That is a common question I’m asked… BUT we DO make money off them selling. IN FACT, the big money starts to happen for you as you build your team full of rockstars that SELL A LOT and as you ADANCE RANK (cycle bonus starts at Emerald rank.) Depending on the rank of the Coach, a cycle bonus is worth either $14 for an Emerald Coach, $16 for a Ruby Coach, and $18 for a Diamond Coach. You might be thinking, $14…big whoop right? Well the $14 is for 1 cycle, it is possible to cycle numerous times a day, in which case the cycle bonuses start to add up. ***Helpful Hint! If you want your paycheck to be direct deposited into your bank account (as opposed to waiting for your check once a month) go into your back office and click “my business” and “my eft management” and put your bank account info in! Then once a week (Thursday) it will be direct deposited into your checking!

 

8.) RANK ADVANCEMENT

Okay. You're ready. Let's get to that training and get through it as fast as possible so we can start putting these things into action!
